As promised, here is my first official giveaway! 
I'm offering a Reed & Barton, Giraffe baby spoon. I had originally bought this to go into a basket I was making for my friend when she had her baby over 2 years ago, but I recently found it in my office downstairs sitting on a shelf. Every time I look at it I realize how fast our little ones grow up. Isn't it amazing? My youngest is going to be 5 next month and my oldest is already 15. Anyway, enough of that…

Consider extra entries for blog followers, or do an exclusive giveaway for just followers. Or try a "follower exchange" where you follow someone and then ask them to follow you.

i would suggest giveaways- and commenting on lots of other blogs with topics like yours. That's a great way to make blog friends!
Do the giveaways and leave comments on other blogs...I often find a new site from links from other places. Once I get to the new site, it needs to have stuff on the main page that would interest me in wanting to keep coming back otherwise I enter and skiddadle. Tutorials, recipes, coupon finds and deals...if you have info I want, I'll subscribe or follow(I preferto subscribe by email as I too don't really end up with time to read my rss feeds. I love giraffs...
Offering a giveaway and linking it on another blog that does a giveaway roundup list is a good way to get new people to you blog. Leaving comments on other blogs helps, too. I prefer e-mail subscriptions to RSS feeds. I will sign up for e-mail but rarely for a RSS feed because I will never check on them.

Maybe you should update this thread to let people know that this contest has ended.. You dont have to delete the content, just post a bolded sentence saying it is over and that you can check back about new contests..
On another note, i do have a suggestion for your blog (even though the contest has ended)
It looks random, and I think its because there are no borders around your content.. I think you should add borders around the content OR make the outside background a different color than the inside.. SO if you make the outside bg white, and keep the inside content bg this color, it will look more organized.. OR you can do visa versa.
You should also consider a nice graphical banner image for the top.. I have some ideas in my head.
