I stayed away from him as long as I could. I never watched the movie when it came out. I never read the books. I ignored all the hype on the blogs about Twilight and the Cullens. But, as time went by he became harder and harder to ignore. People were going crazy and finally, I gave in.
About a month ago I won a Twilight Movie Pack from a giveaway. I didn't watch the movie at first, but one night I was sitting around and decided 'what the heck'. By the time it ended I was hooked. Edward Cullen was my heroin. I called my friends to come over and together we proceeded to watch Twilight again (only 30 minutes after watching it the first time).
I made it about a week after watching the movie before I ordered the first book (with an Amazon.com GC I won). However, when the book came my 16 year old son took it to read and I didn't see it again until this past Monday. I had a busy week and tried devoting time each night to read a chapter before bed. By the second chapter I couldn't stop. As each night came I began staying up later and later to read. Usually turning of the light well after 2 am. Last night was the kicker, I was up until 4am. I was 3/4ths of the way through with the book and really wanted to finish it, but I couldn't. When I woke up this morning at 11:30am I rolled over to finish the last 2 chapters. I was done by 1pm and began reading the teaser for book two. Needless to say I immediately went online and ordered it. Have you ever read a book that was so good that you deprived yourself of sleep? (Note: I read very slow. I'm a very visual person and picture everything I read down to the smallest detail.)
So, after finishing the book today I couldn't help but want to watch the movie again to see the differences. In my opinion the bonus of the movie is being able to see this:
The book, however, gives so much more detail and insight. Together they make for a wonderful fantasy.
Have you ever had a dream about Edward Cullen? I did, last night. I even looked around the room in my haze to see if he was there.
UPDATE: I got Book 2 last night at about 11pm (Sunday) and I finished it at noon today - haven't been to bed yet (it's 5:43pm, Monday) and I'm contemplating starting Book 3 now. See what happens when your internet goes down? Can you spell a-d-d-i-c-t?
